COINBASE GLITCH TODAY
In 2000, at the age of 34, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). At the time, I thought I had ‘my dream life’: teaching at university, doing a PhD, attending international conferences, meeting new people… I had it all! Then the first MS symptoms appeared. Next came the diagnosis… It took a while to bounce back, and learn how to live well with MS.
My new life is completely different, but so much better! Looking back, I have no doubt that Yoga was THE key factor. It led me to a healthy lifestyle. I now live in the South of Portugal, in a small village in the hills north of Faro. Nature all around us is gorgeous.
I am deeply passionate about yoga and breathwork, drawn not only by their physical and mental benefits but by the profound wisdom they hold. Through yoga, I have found a pathway to greater self-awareness and inner peace, which I continuously explore through practice and study. Breathwork, in particular, has taught me the transformative power of conscious breathing.
As a lifelong learner, I am equally intrigued by what modern science is revealing about the way our body and mind work. The intersection between tradition and research excites me—studies on the effects of breathwork on the nervous system, or the physiological impacts of yoga on stress and overall well-being, only deepen my respect for these practices. I love continuously exploring new ways to integrate both ancient wisdom and modern knowledge into my life and sharing with my students.
I hope you’ll join me on this amazing journey.
With love,
Véronique Gauthier-Simmons.
